Book Review - The Alice Network
The Alice Network, A Novel by Kate Quinn. I just finished reading this book as a recommendation from a friend. I was a little slow to become riveted with the story, but once that happened, around the 10th Chapter, I couldn't wait to be able to pick up the book and continue reading.

Summary
The Alice Network is a story about unlikely individuals finding each other as they find themselves. Taking place between the early 1900's (WWI) and the mid 1900's in Europe, Charlotte St. Clair has been forced by her parents to take care of a "little problem". A problem that came about after she made some poor choices while grieving for her brother who committed suicide after coming home from the war.
After reaching Europe, to take care of her "little problem", Charlotte escapes from her mother to begin a journey of searching for her long lost cousin who had been her best friend. Following the clues she had after her father had tried (and too soon quit) to locate her cousin following the Second World War, Charlotte meets Eve and Finn. She believes Eve may have connections that can help her find her cousin Rose, and Finn is Eve's loyal driver.
And so begins the search... the search for the missing and the search for answers. Charlotte, Eve and Finn learn to depend on each other; they learn about one another and build trust. Eve shares her stories about living through WWI as a female spy, all the while learning that her past may connect to Charlotte's missing cousin.
Finn begins to open up to Charlotte and a true friendship begins to build and finally turns into love. Charlotte learns to be vulnerable as does Finn while Eve learns to open her heart. Though each of these characters has their own history and story to tell, completely different than each other's, they become family in the end.
Review
As soon as all of the characters were shaped in my head, I couldn't put this book down. Kate Quinn did a wonderful job of describing the scenery and the characters. So much depth and realism.
